EU Survey Results
Out of 533 emails sent, 126 completed our survey which is an excellent achievement and in itself shows how important the issue of the EU is to the people of South Dorset.
Just 15.1% of respondents expressed contentment with our relationship with Europe, indicating widespread dissatisfaction, however when asked how to deal with the issue, the verdict was largely split, with 41.3% wishing Britain to renegotiate the treaty, whilst 58.7% want to call a referendum.
78.6% of respondents were of voting age at the time of the 1975 EEC referendum stressing that Europe is as pertinent an issue as it was over 36 years ago.
It is also clear that an in/out referendum would not be adequate, as repatriation is a real option for the people of South Dorset with 49.6% regarding repatriation as the best option for Britain.
Nonetheless, it is clear that the people of South Dorset want action on the issue of Europe.
Sign up to the PEOPLE'S PLEDGE to press for a referendum following the next election.
