MEP CHICHESTER TO VISIT DHL FREIGHT CENTRE
BRISTOL – FRIDAY 17 JUNE
Giles Chichester, Conservative MEP for South West England and Gibraltar, will be visiting the DHL International (UK) Ltd consolidated freight centre in Bristol at Cribbs Causeway at 3.00 pm on Friday 17 June for a meeting with Sharon Davies, the UK Director of Corporate Affairs.
Director Sharon Davies wishes to inform MEP Chichester about the results of their successful participation in the EU Intelligent Energy Programme. The Bristol consolidated freight centre makes deliveries to 63 retail outlets. Through participation in the Programme, it is now able to provide considerable savings in carbon emissions and also reduce road congestion whilst improving delivery time to retailers. Since 2004, they have reduced vehicle usage by 76% which equates to savings of 74 tonnes of CO2 and 2,404 kg of Nox.
DHL operates from 346 locations in the UK, providing services from warehousing and logistical support to retail outlets, temperature controlled services for healthcare and replacement parts and reserve logistics. It serves all sectors of UK industry ranging from automotives and fashion to chemicals and healthcare.
